Policies

Payment Policy

  • Monthly Payments: Lessons are to be paid in full on the first lesson of each month for that month.
  • Accepted Payment Methods: Payments can be made via cash, check, or electronic transfer. Please make checks payable to Dave Dohearty.

Attendance and Cancellation Policy

  • Regular Attendance: Consistent attendance is essential for progress in music lessons. Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons.
  • Cancellations and Make-up Lessons: If a student must cancel a lesson, 24-hour notice is required to qualify for a make-up lesson. Make-up lessons are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
  • No-Shows: No-shows and cancellations without 24-hour notice will not be eligible for a make-up lesson and the lesson fee will not be refunded.

Discontinuation Policy

  • Notice of Discontinuation: A written two-week notice is required for discontinuing lessons. This notice must be provided to the instructor in person or via email.
  • Refunds: If discontinuation occurs mid-month, the remaining balance for the month will be refunded on a pro-rata basis, provided the two-week notice requirement is met.

Recognized Holidays

Lessons will not be held on the following holidays:

  •   New Year’s Day (January 1)
  •   Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)
  •   Independence Day (July 4)
  •   Labor Day (First Monday in September)
  •   Thanksgiving Day (Fourth Thursday in November)
  •   Christmas Eve (December 24)
  •   Christmas Day (December 25)
  •   New Year’s Eve (December 31)

If a lesson falls on one of these holidays, it will be rescheduled or a make-up lesson will be offered.

Lesson Etiquette

  • Timeliness: Students are expected to arrive on time for their lessons. Lessons will not be extended for late arrivals.
  • Preparedness: Students should come prepared with all necessary materials, including music books, instruments, and any assignments or practice logs.
